As an interior designer and art historian, I’ve always been interested in Chinese and Japanese-style art created for export in the 17th and 18th centuries. I had already designed rooms in that style, but I had never tried to create my own compositions and works of art in this subject. I met Diane at just the right time, when my professional practice was shifting from commissioning artwork to creating it myself and producing imitation finishes. First, I took part in the Christmas card workshop, and right away I signed up for the waiting list for the “Fundamentals” course. While attending these classes, we convinced Diane to offer an acrylics workshop so we could move from watercolor paper to large murals on walls and wallpaper panels. Here’s the result! I’ll be forever grateful to Diane for her dedication, guidance, and cheerful personality. Her videos are easy to follow, her live classes are fantastic, and her detail brush is a marvel. Silvina

I'm excited about expanding the learnings I can bring from Diane's Foundation Course to the Acrylics course to paint on furniture, walls, panels and other decorative objects in my home. The brushes are very good, it is fun to paint with them. They hold a lor of water and have a really sharp point. I did not try the silk paper yet, I wait to get better.

Very satisfied with my 3 brushes. They hold their point and they carry the pigments very well. The only little negative is that I had to fabricate a way to suspend them for them to dry nicely

I am a complete beginner. Thrown out of art class at school and haven't painted anything since. I have just retired and thought I would try something new, this popped up! Really enjoying it, Diane is helpful and informative, just perfect! Other people on the course give their ideas too and you can ask about any problem bits you have difficulty with. I don't often do things for me but I'm so glad that I am doing this and am going to do a bit around the house (when I get good enough!

I signed up for the Foundation course, but also ordered Dianes E-Book. It is 100 pages of all the information you need on your Chinoiserie journey. It’s my go to reference book with great tips and solutions. Links are provided to helpful resources to more guides and tutorials. But what makes this resource worth having are the chapters on sketching and composition, scaling up and designing for walls, finishing and framing including taking your artist journey further.

I adore this paper. It takes paint so well, and the texture is lovely. I found this immensely easier to use than watercolor paper. I highly recommend it. It's worth the cost.

I’m enjoying the warm up tutorials. Just one day of actually painting cherry blossom. I’m using Stonehenge Aqua cold press. Im going to the city this weekend and get some different paper, maybe some rice paper, too. Is Mulberry paper a good choice?
