Taking The First Step: Drawing
You'll learn how to draw signature chinoiserie elements with simple, step-by-step guidance. We begin with relaxed sketches that build into a balanced composition. I'll show you why each element goes where it does, how to use negative space, and how to create flowing, harmonious branches.
Every pencil mark is broken down and clearly explained. You'll also get downloadable templates to trace or practice with at your own pace.
Module 3
Preparing Your Paper For Painting
You'll learn how to prepare a beautiful surface for painting and set yourself up for a flawless start.
I'll guide you through mixing and applying soft background washes, adding subtle textures, and transferring your design so outlines are clear and easy to follow. If you're working with silk paper, I'll show you how to prepare and flatten it properly, so everything feels smooth and stress-free.

Learning The Techniques

I'll guide you through my 3-step method: base coats, gradients, and details, covering brush direction, pressure, water control, and consistency.

Creating Your Artwork
In this final module, you’ll bring everything together to complete a full chinoiserie painting from start to finish. We’ll focus on how to balance colour across the whole piece, make your flowers feel full and luminous, and bring all the individual elements into harmony.
