A unique artisan surface hand crafted with thick textured paper. Perfect for achieving a traditional style chinoiserie design. 

India tea paper pays homage to the rich history of wallpapers crafted by hand to create classic Chinese wallpaper designs.

To achieve an aged look, lightly sand the surface of the paper for instant charm.

Each pack contains two classic blue, and two neutral ivory sheets. 

This paper is made by hand in small batches. Minor imperfections are to be expected. 

Need to know:

NEW UPDATE - New smooth surface, sheets no longer include paper joins

Your pack will contain 4 sheets (2 blue, 2 neutral)

Each sheet measures approximately 24 x 36cm (9.4 inches x 14.1 inches)

Paint glides on creating a luxurious finish

Can build up layers and add fine details

Can be lightly sanded with fine sandpaper to achieve an aged look

Can be dyed to any colour with a thin watered down coat of paint (one that does not move when wet, such as acrylic paint).

Can be used with a variety of paint types but I mostly love gouache and watercolour.

This surface can accept extremely watered down paint.

Plan your design in advance and transfer to the tea paper when you are happy with the composition. The delicate surface may become damaged if you use an eraser too harshly.

  • UK - Free over $250 USD ($7 under $250 USD), delivery in 3-5 business days.
  • USA Standard - Free over $250 USD, estimated delivery in 10-15 business days ($25 under $250 USD). As of 2nd Sept 2025 all US orders include prepaid duties and taxes, so no surprises on arrival.
  • International Standard - Free over $250 USD, estimated delivery in 10-15 business days ($20 under $250 USD). 
  • International express - $54 USD delivered in 3-5 business days. Currently subject to fees on arrival.
