In this free tutorial we'll learn how to draw a classic chinoiserie-style peony, step by step.

Tasks:

• Start by mapping out your peony with light pencil marks, using "egg" shapes to form the structure.
• Gradually define each "egg" with precise petals.
• Practice this process until you feel confident with the shape.
• Beginners can download my template below to trace and get a feel for the shapes. Once you’re comfortable, try drawing freehand.

• HB mechanical pencil
• Putty rubber
• Standard letter paper
